If you have a front basket or rack on your bicycle, it's likely to obstruct any light mounted to your bicycle's handlebar. You can work around this by mounting the bicycle headlight to the fork. This hack uses a synthetic wine cork and a zip tie to provide a simple place for you to inexpensively mount any headlight that would normally fit the handlebar. This nifty solution will allow you to maintain the intended orientation and adjust it with ease.
Edit Steps
- Drink a few bottles of wine and try to find a good synthetic cork. Real corks may also work, but could become brittle with time.
- Drill a hole straight through the side of the cork. Drill it about a quarter inch/ 6.35mm from the end.
- Put a zip tie through the hole. Strap the cork to the fork tightly so that is sticks out to one side.
- Trim the zip tie.
- Mount the bicycle headlight to the cork the way you might normally do to your handlebar.
- All done!
